Full day local sightseeing tour.
AM: Visit the Memorial Chorten of the Late King Jigme Dorjee
Wangchuk in the heart of Thimpu Town/ the Tashichhodzong,
"The fortress of the auspicious Religion."
PM: Stroll down town to the Handicraft Development Corporation,
which displays all kinds of traditional handicraft products
of Bhutan. O/nt. hotel. |

- Punakha (77Kms./3 hrs.)
AM: After breakfast drive over the spectacular Dochula pass
(3100m) to the warm fertile valley of Punakha.
PM: Visit the Historic Punakha Dzong, once the seat of the
old capital of Bhutan. The magnificent Dzong is sprawled between
the phochu and Mochu rivers. O.nt. Hotel. |

- Bhumanthang (210Kms./8 hrs. approx.)
AM: Early morning drive to the valley of Bhumanthang through
the Yotala pass (3340m). This valley is considered a very
scared place for the Bhutanese with many temples and holly

Bhumathang:
Full day sightseeing.
AM: Drive to Mebartsho (burning lake). This gorge is the holy
site and pilgrimage place where Guru Rimpoche had hidden religious
treasures later discovered by Terton Pema Lingpa. Visit the
Swiss farm where you can buy excellent local mad cheese.
PM: Visit the Jakar Dzong (castle of white bird) built in
1549 this Dzong houses the administrative center of Bhumanthang.
Visit Kurjey Lhakhang the most scared and popular monastery
in Bhumanthang. O/nt. at Bhamanthang Tourist Lodge. |
